Safety is one of the expectations that EVERY Oregonian should have.
Do you feel safe in your home? At work? School? What about taking a leisurely stroll to the park or market? Is that something you feel comfortable doing? If the answer to that is "No," then I ask you to join us in making OUR Oregon SAFE AGAIN!
Investing in public safety is a priority of mine as Governor. This includes ensuing our local law enforcement agencies are equipped to tackle any crisis, big and small, wherever they may arise. We cannot go down a path where crime rates rise, but we also must face and
acknowledge injustices in our criminal justice system.
I support investing in educational and vocational programs in our prisons for our incarcerated citizens that are going to be released after serving their time. Ensuring that formerly
incarcerated people have all the tools necessary to rebuild their life both professionally and
personally. If they come out of our prison system, they should be trained and ready for the workforce so they can be contributing members of society. Actions like these will help reduce recidivism and lower our crime rates.
